About

Hello, I’m Fahra

I’m a qualitative researcher based in Jakarta, Indonesia with a background in cultural analysis, media studies, and consumer behavior.

By day, I work as a travel designer at Blueflower while pursuing freelance research projects on the side. Previously, I spent three years at Quantum Consumer Solutions, where I led research initiatives across Indonesia and Thailand.

My academic background is in Communication Studies from Universitas Indonesia, where I wrote my thesis on women’s sexuality expression tactics through alter accounts on Twitter.

Research & Writing

I’m fascinated by the intersections of culture, media, and social progress. My research often explores how people navigate and express their identities within existing social structures, particularly in Indonesian society.

I’ve published articles examining TikTok’s influence on Indonesia’s attention economy and unpacking the complexity of Gen Z through behavioral economics.

Beyond Work

When I’m not conducting research or designing travel experiences, you’ll find me:

  • Building my ever-growing book collection (ask me for recommendations!)
  • Watching films (Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York is my all-time favorite)
  • Rewatching Gilmore Girls for the umpteenth time
  • Hunting for vinyl records to add to my collection

This site serves as my digital garden — a space where I share published articles, half-formed ideas, cultural observations, and occasional reviews of books, films, and music that capture my attention.
